S'mae. I live, work and play on the island of Borneo with my wife and our two young children. That's one of them in the pic, being carried down Snowdon back in summer 2014.

I work in the English as an Additional Language (EAL) department at an international school, where I help secondary kids who need extra support with the English language. I am also currently transferring from an MPhil in Writing onto a PhD. When I grow up I'd like to lecture creative writing in Australia.

Before moving here I was the national editor for CLIConline, a network of 23 Welsh Government youth websites. Further back than that, I graduated from the University of Glamorgan in 2007 with a First Class Honours degree in Creative & Professional Writing. I then sat in the editor's chair at Cardiff's Buzz magazine for a year.

I am also a freelance magazine journalist on permanent hiatus. I've written for titles including Open Skies (Emirates in-flight mag), Mixmag, The Big Issue Cymru, alpha. (Dubai) and Ministry.

I grew up at 98 Roundwood in Llanedeyrn. I later moved to Pentwyn with my folks, and had stints of moving out and back in again. I've also lived in Roath, Rumney, Porthcawl and Llanharan.

I travelled extensively between 2003-2005, including living and working in Sydney. I was also a holiday rep in Turkey for one season in 1997, where I had a gun pulled on me.

I played guitar in a revered hardcore punk band called Disco Assassins from 1993-1998. There are a few Facebook pages about us.

My hobbies include eating hot sauces and drinking craft beer. I keep fit using 30+ Men's Fitness. The missus and I rent out a few properties around Cardiff. I have very little spare time.
